These patties are sold uncooked so you can season and cook them to taste after rehydration. They are excellent for home use, camping, and backpacking\u2014no cooler or ice required. To prepare, rehydrate with water for a few minutes following the label instructions, then cook thoroughly and season to your preference.

Unopened bags are shelf stable and expected to maintain quality for up to 10 years when stored in the factory packaging out of direct sunlight and in a dry, rodent-free area. With optimal conditions, the effective shelf life may extend beyond 10 years.\
After opening, reseal the bag using the integrated zip closure and keep the oxygen absorber and moisture desiccant inside. Opened packages typically retain quality for roughly three months to one year depending on storage conditions.\
For longer-term storage after opening, use a home vacuum sealer to remove residual oxygen; this can extend the remaining shelf life to five years or more.
